The members of the Agoji detachment defended the African kingdom of Dahomey, and there were legends about the exploits of the Amazons. The warriors had unique skills in combat weapons and fighting techniques, and training began in childhood. They were well-versed in cold weapons, could merge with nature and become invisible to enemies. At the required time, they attacked like wild predators, leaving no chance for their rivals to survive. General Naniski was responsible for training the new generation, educating the recruits and setting them up to face the enemies. They had to repel the attacks of opponents significantly superior in strength and power. For them, traditions and the usual way of life, carefully preserved for centuries, were important. The brave warriors opposed the well-armed European invaders who were going to turn them into slaves.
