The young heir Dilip is hopelessly in love with the aspiring film actress Nayantara, who, together with her insidious mother, who is trying to attach her to the cinema to a famous director and assistant, are trying to build a career. The first acquaintance in real life takes place between the characters and the man immediately falls in love with the object of adoration. But influential businessman Rai Saheb, Dilip's grandfather, intervenes in their romantic story, who strongly recommends not to get involved with the actress, otherwise he may disgrace their family.

It is not supposed to choose a girl with a low status and poor financial situation as a daughter-in-law. In order not to provoke a quarrel, the guy lies that he has not communicated with her for a long time and is now building a personal life with a homely girl from a middle-class family. But in fact, he hopes for love with Nayantara, who does not reciprocate him and comes to all social events in the company of the famous artist Ashok Kumar.
