Literally, it translates as two weeks with the ancestors, because for fourteen years you need to remember your deceased relatives, and give them energy through your prayers. The legends of Mahalai are too complicated, but their essence is that three generations of ancestors do not immediately ascend to heaven, at first they have to stay in an intermediate kingdom, so the spirits of the deceased often visit their relatives, watching their actions.

In India, religious rituals are held on these holidays, they resemble real festivals, which are a real attraction of the country and will bring unforgettable emotions to the guests of such a bright event. At the beginning of the thirties of the twentieth century, a program was first broadcast on All-India radio, telling about the epic battle of the goddess Durga, she had to bravely fight Mahishe, a cruel and insidious demon. From the very beginning of the foundation of the project, it was read by Birenda Krishna Bhadre, thanks to his charming voice, the program gained incredible popularity. In 1976, the Ministry of Culture decided to make changes and change Utama Kumara's voice to a new one, after which there was discontent among listeners trying to put everything back in its place.
