Jess was considered not a very sociable person. He was always out of his depth. He did not even use his own shoes, but only those that his sisters gave him after they had completely worn them out. The Aaronsons lived almost in poverty. Jesse didn't like going to school, where he was always ridiculed. However, unexpectedly, his grandfather Leslie soon became his neighbor. After that, everything completely changed in his fate. She, like Jesse, felt like a white crow. Leslie is a very wayward and brave girl, with whom Jess became friends. Together they engaged in settling in a new world.

Once in the village they came across a place with an abandoned house. Here the heroes managed to create the territory of their country, which they called Terabithia. Now it is their refuge and joy. The study inside the school took place as usual. It wasn't difficult for Jesse to study now when he had such a friend around him. Together they could fight different enemies.
