The police officer from Los Angeles Brian O'Connor, despite age already managed to win respect of fellow workers and the administration. Once, charge to the brave guy a difficult mission: it needs to take root into gang of the imperceptible malefactor Dominica of Toretto that then to trace the bandits committing assaults against trucks with various expensive equipment. Working under cover, the main character made a mistake and guided law enforcement officers not at those people. 

Meanwhile raids on trucks proceed. Brian's commander staying in the angry state threatens to remove it from a post and to dismiss from police department if it quickly does not correct a situation. Soon, O'Connor who fitted into the company of autocriminals, falls in love with the sister of the leader, Mia. Gradually, the cop is more and more convinced that Toretto is related to resonant robberies, however his friendly relations with Dominic prevent to carry out professional duties fully. The observer of the law who appeared in a difficult situation has to make a choice - the new friend, the girlfriend or a debt to the city.
