A company that deals with the latest developments for people creates a B-bot. Mark Weidell is trying to create a robot that can become someone's irreplaceable friend and assistant. Mark creates a special algorithm for a robot friend. Now these robots are gaining popularity all over the world. The story takes us to California, where Barney Pudowski lives. Barney attends Nonsuch High School. Barney's mother died a long time ago. And Barney is also the only child who doesn't have the newest robot friend.

Long-time childhood friends stopped communicating with the boy, as they are very busy being friends with their robots. And so Barney was left without friends. Barney's birthday is coming up, to which he has no one to invite. Seeing this, Barney's father Graham, along with the boy's grandmother Donka, decide to give him a B-bot. However, they do not have time to get to the store on time, and in order not to spoil Barney's holiday, they have to buy a robot from a robot deliverer. The robot is slightly out of order and buggy. In order not to upset his father, Barney decides to take the robot to the technical service himself. On the way, he is met by classmates who mock Barney. But the new robot gives them a thrashing because of the factory settings failure. Now Barney and his robot Ron are best friends.
