The United States of America in 1968. In this difficult time, the women of a seemingly free country were subjected to all kinds of discrimination in various spheres of life. Infringement of rights also concerned voluntary termination of pregnancy. The medical commission, which included only men, refused to have an abortion, regardless of the reasons, whether it was rape, illness, or a voluntary desire to get rid of an unwanted pregnancy. In addition to everything, there was criminal liability for violating such an order.

Joy found herself in a difficult position when she was informed that childbirth could cause cardiac arrest. She is not ready to die, but how will she get rid of the child and not get behind bars? Trying to solve the situation, taking incredible risks, she finds an organization engaged in illegal abortions. So a woman finds herself among other members of a secret society, gradually becoming imbued with the fate of each of them, at the same time thinking about the correctness of her decision.
