The notorious robber by the name of Dick Terpin, having secured with support of the accomplices makes robberies in different corners of Great Britain. Experienced criminals long enough managed to avoid deserved punishment. Having felt itself unpunished, bandits relaxed and lost vigilance. The next assault brought gang into the cunning trap arranged by constables and gets to prison. The leader, without having begun to wait for death sentence, decides on escape from correctional facility. Despite attempts of observers of the law to find the fugitive without delay, it managed to disappear.

Soon, Terpin attacks the carriage of the influential grandee of Pembroke passing on the forest road without protection. Dick kidnaps the daughter of the count, pretty Elisabeth. First the capricious girl wanted to kill the thief, however gradually began to fall in love with the fearless malefactor who subdued her the acts. Meanwhile Lisa's groom, Uintrop who is the owner of one of the first large coal mines of England in every way tries to return the wealthy bride who does not wish to come back home any more...
